Nicole tops earnings list

Nicole Kidman beat out fellow actress Julia Roberts to become Hollywood's highest-paid actress in 2006. The Fur actress can command a whopping $16 million to $17 million per picture, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Though lower than Roberts's $20 million per movie average, Kidman was able to slide into the top spot since the Pretty Woman took time off over the past few years to marry and start a family. Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Renee Zellweger also ranked in the top five earning women with an estimated $15 million each per picture. Male stars unfortunately still earn more money in Hollywood, with the likes of Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey commanding close to $25 million per film.
